The 2024 lineup is complemented by nearly 250 new parts, apparel and accessories that provide even more personalization options. This year, Polaris is making its SnowCheck program even more compelling with the launch of a SnowCheck Ship Guarantee*, which promises all 2024 SnowCheck orders will ship by November 30, 2023.

“Everything we do starts with our riders in mind,” said Jenny Nack, vice president and general manager, Polaris Snow. “The 2024 Polaris snowmobile and Timbersled lineup is one of our most refined and complete in recent years. RIDE COMMAND continues to set the standard allowing riders to plan routes, organize and track riding groups, and offers industry-leading Bluetooth connectivity on a full color, glove-friendly touchscreen 7S Display.

“We never stop looking for ways to improve the riding experience,” said Nack. “Whether through bold, game-changing innovations like Patriot 9R and the Matryx platform, or our ongoing efforts to tune and enhance quality and performance, the passion and commitment of our team to continually raise the bar is always there.”

ENOUGH ABOUT “FAST” – LET’S JUST HAVE SOME FUN! https://www.supertraxmag.com/features/enough-about-fast-lets-just-have-some-fun/ https://www.supertraxmag.com/features/enough-about-fast-lets-just-have-some-fun/#respond Tue, 15 Nov 2022 11:00:00 +0000 https://www.supertraxmag.com/?p=14933 For as long as we can remember “fun” when it comes to snowmobiling always refers to mega engine performance: Bigger displacement, bigger horsepower, the turbocharging of already blistering fast engines, life-altering top-end speeds and blinding acceleration.

Yes, you’re right, we’ve pushed this imagery for years and have been dead-guilty of poo-pooing snowmobiles that have less than the maximum amount of power under their hoods. The fact is, we’ve been driven by your demands as much as by ours.

Snowmobilers love power and it’s one of the reasons sales are so strong amongst sleds that meet that somewhat narrow, power-hungry criteria. Power is something every snowmobiler craves and it’s the reason why you see grandmothers ordering brand new turbocharged touring sleds.

Okay, no guilt trip here. We love power, you love power – even grandma tourers love power. So, what’s wrong with that? Nuttin’, is what!

Just to blow-out your perspective though, have you tried out any of the new generation of lesser engine performance sleds out there? I’m talking sleds like the EVO, BLAST, MX-Z NEO and Yamaha’s SXVenom. Wait! Keep reading! We have a point here.

Yes, all of these sleds max out at about 65-horsepower, even less – and that isn’t enough power to cause concussive cranial acceleration or induce nosebleeds. No claim has ever been made that this is the intention of these models; rather their whole reason to exist is about “fun”.

No, we’re not talking about the kind of fun you have hitting triple digits out on a lake or blasting past your buddy’s kitted turbo SRX. As a matter of fact, the aforementioned sleds absolutely will not deliver the same level of fun when ridden with big-inchers and hypersleds.

We’re talking about a different type of fun that includes riders of all different ages and varying experience levels on power matched equipment experiencing snowmobiling together. We’re talking about fun that includes challenging your skills to ride in deep snow without climbing a near vertical precipice, to outhandle your buddies on a local snowmobile trail at legal speeds and to do all this while sipping tiny amounts of fuel.

The fact is, when you’re on the trails, riding any of these snowmobiles is every bit as much fun as riding a hyper-powered sled on the same terrain. Any trail speed you give up – and, surprisingly, it isn’t really that much on tight trails – is gained back in the gobbed-smacked realization you’re actually going a lot faster than you expected.

Each of these sleds is offered with excellent chassis engineering, decent suspension tech and enough comfort features to make a long day’s ride achievable. The very fact an experienced rider can toss any one of them around with abandon, makes them even more appealing.

They’re light and nimble, with agile handling that just dares you to have maximum fun. A seasoned rider can ride with a less experienced spouse or one of the kids and have an incredibly enjoyable day of giggles, whether riding on-trail or off.

Yes, back at work on Monday your macho image around the water cooler might take a hit, but you can find comfort in the fact you have experienced all that snowmobiling has to offer – and what you experienced was unembarrassed, unbridled, no-excuses “fun”!

2019 POLARIS INDY EVO https://www.supertraxmag.com/features/2019-polaris-indy-evo-2/ https://www.supertraxmag.com/features/2019-polaris-indy-evo-2/#respond Thu, 15 Feb 2018 11:00:00 +0000 https://new.supertraxmag.com/uncategorized/2019-polaris-indy-evo-2/ The 2019 Polaris Indy EVO just might be the sled for the masses…or possibly for the missus, or the kiddos or the family member you just don’t trust with anything liquid cooled or able to go over 50 MPH.

The EVO is a total rethink of the midsized sled. It’s really not all that mid-sized actually; it’s a full size Indy chassis with standard size bodywork, a real track, skis, and the works.

It has a very powerful 550 fan-cooled engine and while it sounds like it might not be a mid-sized sled at all, the truth is while it isn’t…it actually is.

The CDI box makes the engine top out at 50 MPH and the fact Polaris Engineers limited power electronically is really interesting, because you get full power right up to that speed, which eliminates the stigma surrounding mid-sized sleds, which typically have a lazy, old or just not fun motor under the hood.

The 550 is linked to a new, easy-to-operate and more controlled throttle flipper that will reduce the amount of effort required to squeeze it and reduce surging through the whoops typically experienced by novice or new riders. This means the confidence level goes up and the risk goes down.

Acceleration is surprising because you get a whole lot of giddy up and go. While the skis will stay planted if you sit down and gas it, they will get light and wheelie well over a hundred feet should you just stand up and pull back only every so slightly, adding to the fun factor for those whose confidence is building.

While there is an EVOlution kit available for the EVO making it essentially a full powered 550 Indy with full width and full suspension travel, the stock model has a very lowered look to it.

Polaris put its focus on massaging the Indy chassis so it works perfectly for a smaller rider. This attention to detail means smaller pilots can rail corners just like someone riding a full-sized Indy.

Travel has been pulled out of the front and rear suspension of the sled to lower the ride height and add confidence by dropping the center of gravity. When you do this the sled becomes more stable and further inspires confidence.

Experienced riders will use up the suspension on the EVO, but this is not a sled for the average rider, it is a stepping stone to a sport we are all addicted to and a great start for those lacking the skills or confidence required to handle a full-sized sled.

I don’t for a second believe the EVO is only targeted at 12 to 16 year olds. This is a sled for riders 12 years old to 85 years old. It’s the sled sled your wife will feel more confident on, the sled you know is the right fit for the neighbour you’ve always wanted to take for a ride, it’s a sled for the masses who don’t have the muscle, the skill or the confidence yet to ride a full sized sled.

The Indy EVO is the sled we’ve all been asking for. It’s the sled that’s going get a new generation addicted to snowmobiling and that’s an addiction I have no problem feeding.
