FAQ

How to I start an event?

If you’re interested in starting your own group and/or event, fill out this form so we can register you and send you resources as they become available. This resources include promo materials, Project-Fun brand guidelines, answer questions, fundraising and submitting your event statistics to be included in our global impact report.

I really like the idea, but it's way out of my comfort zone. What can I do?

First, remember that we can’t expect something new and exciting to happen if we don’t step out of our comfort zone. However, we understand that it may be a little scary to plan an event and invite your neighbour (particularly if you don’t know them). We suggest finding one more outgoing neighbor and asking them to help you plan the event and invite the rest of your block.

Can I participate if I'm not in Canada?

Of course. We’re hoping to bring everyone around the world together. The more the merrier.

Who pays for the event?

The vision of Project-Fun is that the community would pool their financial resources to pay for the event and the materials needed. Plan something within your range and ask a couple of friends or neighbours if they’d be willing to pitch in.

Many groups have found success in getting local companies to donate some or all of their needs. We think this is a really great solution and it gets the community involved too.

Does my event have to be on the date announced?

Absolutely not. Project-Fun is a movement to bring people together and spread positivity. If we could, we’d do it every day of the year. We aim for one day simply so we can make more noise together.

Do you have a recommended site for organizing my group and event?

There are many options. We recommend joining our Facebook group and creating an event inside the group. That way it’s all in one place and it’s easier to find. Having said that, this is not mandatory, so feel free to use your preferred system.

What if no one in my area has started an event?

The idea is to have as many events as possible. If no one has planned anything near you, that’s your cue to go for it.

What about liability insurance?

If you are using a commercial space for your event, you may be required to provide proof of insurance in order to use the space. Project-Fun does not provide coverage for this as it is cost prohibited to cover events everywhere.

We recommend that you reach out to a local insurance agent and ask for him/her to underwrite your insurance needs. If you are unable to get it at no-cost, a short-term policy shouldn’t cost too much. We’ve heard of some groups getting it for around $100 USD.

Where can I download the logo?

All the approved versions of the logo and other promotional materials are available on our Downloads page.

Do I have to be an event planner to participate?

Absolutely no. This is about having fun. If you are excited about the idea, go for it.
